That's the yin and yang principle. The good within the bad and vice versa. I believe the human being is not good nor bad. The human being wants to survive and will do everything and anything in order to achieve that. Keep reading, and I will introduce both terms and say my opinion.
What's Yin and Yang
Yin and yang are two complementary principles in Chinese philosophy that represent opposing but interconnected forces found in nature and the universe. Yin is associated with qualities such as darkness, passivity, femininity, coldness, and moisture. It represents the receptive, yielding, and introspective aspects of nature. Yang, on the other hand, is associated with qualities such as light, activity, masculinity, warmth, and dryness. It represents the active, creative, and expansive aspects of nature.
In Chinese philosophy, it is believed that everything in the universe is made up of a balance of yin and yang forces. When these forces are in balance, they create harmony and health. When they are out of balance, they can create disharmony and disease.
The concept of yin and yang is often represented by the symbol of a circle divided into two halves, with a small circle of the opposite color within each half. This symbolizes the interconnectedness and interdependence of yin and yang, as well as their ability to transform into one another.
Survival of the fittest
Survival of the fittest is a phrase that originated in the field of evolutionary biology, coined by the British philosopher and scientist Herbert Spencer in the mid-19th century. The phrase refers to the concept of natural selection, which is a fundamental principle of evolutionary theory.
In the context of evolutionary biology, survival of the fittest means that in a given population of organisms, those that are best adapted to their environment are more likely to survive and reproduce, passing their advantageous traits on to their offspring. Over time, this can result in the evolution of new species or the adaptation of existing species to changing environmental conditions.
It is important to note that survival of the fittest does not necessarily mean that the strongest or most aggressive individuals are always the ones that survive and reproduce. Rather, it refers to the ability of individuals to adapt to their environment and successfully compete for resources, such as food and mates.
While the concept of survival of the fittest has been widely used in popular culture and sometimes used to justify social or economic inequality, it is important to understand that it is a scientific concept related to the evolution of species, rather than a value judgment about individuals or groups.
So why am I bringing this shit up
Humans, just like the whole world they are evolving on, are working on many principals but one is mandatory: balance. Balance between good and bad, dark and bright, passivity and impulsivity. Humans are also mammals, just like any other mammal roaming the earth: they survive only if they are smart enough. It is not about who is the strongest, but more about who is the smartest. You won't survive otherwise.
In the context of evolution and natural selection, being smart can be important for survival because it can enhance an individual's ability to adapt to changing environmental conditions and compete for resources.
Intelligence, in this context, can refer to a range of cognitive abilities, including problem-solving, reasoning, learning, memory, and social intelligence. These abilities can help individuals to identify and respond to opportunities and threats in their environment, develop more efficient strategies for finding food and avoiding predators, and navigate complex social interactions.
I present to you MY BEAST
Humans will tend to act on impulse, prioritizing their ''worst enemy'' inside themselves, and will end up fucking up. My worst enemy is my beast. I have always been aware of my dark side, the darkest side of me, not even the color black could describe her. Black absorbs every light there is, but that is not even enough. I have always blamed my beast for all the shit I have been through... until I realized she was there to protect me all along, I only had to learn how to share my life with her.
It took me two decades to realize that my beast is the one who made me survive all those nightmares... It took me two decades to also realize that in order to live a fulfilling life, she had to make one with me, I had to make one with her, not let her be a separate entity.
My beast still is the darkest side of myself, but I don't let her take control of me.
That is how I can assure my survival.
She is a part of me, she is me. We are one.
